This Cookie Policy explains how Workolo ("we," "our," or "us") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you access or use our talent marketplace platform. By using Workolo, you consent to the use of cookies as described in this policy.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) when you visit a website. They help websites recognize your device and remember information about your visit, such as your preferences and login status.
Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and other browser-based storage mechanisms that serve similar purposes.

- Push notifications: Store notification preferences and device tokens
- Message notifications: Track unread message badges and alerts

4. Third-Party Cookies
Workolo uses third-party services that may set their own cookies:
- PhonePe (Payment Processing - India): Handles secure INR payment transactions for subscriptions and purchases
- PayPal (Payment Processing - International): Handles secure international payment transactions for subscriptions and purchases
- YouTube (Video Hosting): Powers video playback on Talent Pages and Karaoke Club
- Cloudflare Turnstile (Security): Provides bot protection and CAPTCHA verification
- Supabase (Backend Services): Powers authentication, database, and storage functionality
- Shiprocket (Shipping & Logistics): Integration is configured but not active. Order tracking and delivery cookies will be set only once Workolo's e-commerce surfaces go live post-GSTIN.
- Google AdSense (Advertising): Sets cookies for ad personalization and frequency capping. Manages which ads are shown and tracks ad performance. You can manage preferences at Google Ad Settings or opt out via the Network Advertising Initiative
These third-party cookies are governed by the respective privacy policies of these service providers. We recommend reviewing their policies for more information.
4.1 Feature-Specific Cookies
Additional cookies are used for specific platform features:
- E-commerce (gated): Shopping cart, product browsing history, and checkout session cookies will be set only once Workolo Store / Talent Shop are re-enabled post-GSTIN.
- Service Booking (gated): Time-slot and booking-draft cookies will be set only once the Service Bookings marketplace is re-enabled post-GSTIN.
- Property Listings: Search filters and saved listing preferences. Visit-scheduling cookies are gated pending GST registration.
- Karaoke Club: Channel session management, audio/video preferences, recording session data
- AI Interview Room (AIR): AIR sessions use your browser's camera and microphone permissions directly — these are device permissions, not cookies. However, your AIR session preferences (selected language and backdrop) are stored in your Workolo profile, not as browser cookies.
5. Cookie Duration
Session Cookies
These temporary cookies are deleted when you close your browser. They are used primarily for authentication and session management.
Persistent Cookies
These cookies remain on your device for a set period or until you manually delete them. They are used to remember your preferences and login status across sessions. Typical duration ranges from days to months depending on the cookie type.
6. Managing and Controlling Cookies
6.1 Browser Settings
Most web browsers allow you to manage cookies through their settings. You can:
- View cookies stored on your device
- Delete existing cookies
- Block cookies from being set
- Set preferences for specific websites
To manage cookies in your browser, access the settings/preferences menu. Search for "cookies" or "privacy" to find relevant options.
6.2 Impact of Disabling Cookies
If you disable or block cookies, certain features of Workolo may not function properly:
- You may not be able to stay logged in
- Your preferences may not be saved
- Messaging features may not work correctly
- Some pages may not load correctly
- PWA functionality may be limited
- Your user experience may be degraded
Essential cookies cannot be disabled as they are required for the platform to function.
7. Local Storage and Session Storage
In addition to cookies, Workolo uses browser local storage and session storage to:
- Store authentication tokens securely
- Cache frequently accessed data for faster performance
- Maintain application state
- Store temporary data for ongoing sessions
- Enable PWA offline functionality
- Store push notification preferences
These storage mechanisms work similarly to cookies but can store larger amounts of data and are managed differently by browsers.
8. Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers have "Do Not Track" (DNT) features that signal to websites that users don't want to be tracked. Currently, there is no uniform standard for handling DNT signals. Workolo does not respond to DNT signals at this time.
9. Updates to Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our technology, practices, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
10. Data Protection and Privacy
Information collected through cookies is subject to our Privacy Policy. For more information about how we collect, use, and protect your personal data, please review our Privacy Policy.
11. Identity Verification Cookies
When you start an identity-verification session, short-lived session, state and anti-fraud cookies (or equivalent browser storage) may be set by Workolo and by our authorised third-party verification providers solely to complete the verification flow, prevent session hijacking and detect automated abuse. These are strictly necessary cookies — disabling them will prevent the verification feature from working. They are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking and expire automatically when the verification session ends.
