GST Compliance Statement

How Workolo operates under the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017.

Workolo is a SaaS platform — not an e-commerce operator

Workolo provides a software-as-a-service platform for legal document drafting (Rental Agreements), talent discovery, identity verification, and related tools. Workolo is the principal supplier of its own service. Any surface that would otherwise make Workolo an e-commerce operator under Section 24(ix) of the CGST Act, 2017 — such as a third-party marketplace, paid listings facilitating third-party supplies, or settlement of money between two third parties — is currently disabled and shown as "Coming Soon". These surfaces will be re-enabled once Workolo's GSTIN is issued and TCS-compliant invoicing is in place.

Below the ₹20 lakh GST registration threshold

Workolo's aggregate taxable turnover is currently below the ₹20 lakh threshold prescribed under Section 22 of the CGST Act, 2017, and is therefore not yet required to obtain GST registration. GST registration is in progress and will be completed prior to crossing the threshold or enabling any Section 24 feature, whichever is earlier.

Pure-Agent invoicing for pass-through charges

Where Workolo collects amounts on behalf of third parties — specifically e-Stamp Duty (paid to State Governments) and e-Sign charges (paid to licensed e-Sign service providers such as Digio and Zoho Sign) — these amounts are separately itemised on every invoice and collected as a pure agent under Rule 33 of the CGST Rules, 2017. Such pass-through amounts do not form part of Workolo's taxable turnover or service consideration for GST purposes.
